Article 214 of the
Constitution of India provides that there shall be a High Court for
each State. V of part VI of the Constitution contains the
provisions relating to the High Courts in the State.
The Hon’ble High
Court of A.P. came into existence on 01.11.1956 simultaneously with
the formation of the State of A.P.
The Hon’ble High
Court under article 226 of the Constitution is empowered to issue
writs for the enforcement of any of the rights conferred by part III
or for any other purpose. Under article 227 of the Constitution the
High Court has superintendence over all the Courts and Tribunals
through out the territories in relation to which it is empowered to
issue writs.
The persons /
organizations aggrieved by the pollution problems file writ
petitions in the Hon’ble High Court invoking the extraordinary
jurisdiction of the Hon’ble High Court under the Article 226 of the
Constitution of India.
